For those who know me, you can remember the influence that Michael's music had as I was growing up ('Have you seen my childhoooood,' lol). It was extremely difficult to sum up my favourite artist in one mix. I spent most of my time just listening before I started recording and found myself reminiscing over every song. From the time I first heard Billie Jean, to my mom screaming @ me to "turn it down" as I yelled back, "but this is the best part," to imitating his every move in all his music videos and busting them out at school dances, the memories came flooding back. I couldn't understand why his death affected me so much, I mean, I never knew the guy but I guess playing Thriller and Dangerous on repeat from the moment I woke up and watching 'Moonwalker' and that ABC biography/movie EVERYTIME I came home from school (sincere apologies to my brothers, Faizal and Salim) you could say Michael was my babysitter. I guess you never expect someone like that to die.
Anyway, I hope this mix does MJ some justice and that you can always listen to it everytime you feel like remembering the greatest artist who ever lived.
